How Do Viruses of Dahlias Spread?

Viruses cannot spread without help. Unfortunately, help for the virus is often at hand because many things that are done during dahlia cultivation increase virus spread. There are 3 ways that viruses can be introduced and spread throughout a planting:

  1. Vectors – insects such as aphids, thrips, nematodes and fungi
  2. Virus infected or contaminated seed, tubers and plants
  3. Spread by physical contact and wounding
